The Taipei City Government established the Taipei Youth Recreation Center with forward-looking plans in the 1990s. On November 3, 2014, the Taipei City Youth Development Office was restructured and established to provide platform services for the development of various learning activities for young people, including international education exchanges, Grand tour experience, service learning, career development, art and cultural performances, study courses and recreational activities, etc., target young people aged 12 to 24.
On February 6, 1992, the Family Education Law was promulgated and implemented. In 1993, the Taipei City Government added the Taipei City Family Education Center as a secondary institution under the Education Bureau. Network resources such as schools, social affairs and communities are connected and linked.
The healthy growth of adolescents is closely related to family functions. With social changes, adolescent development requires more family support, and family education requires closer parent-child connection. The Education Bureau has integrated the functions of the Taipei City Youth Development Office and the Taipei City Family Education Center to establish " "Taipei City Youth Development and Family Education Center" was approved by the third reading of the 5th meeting of the 13th 7th regular meeting of the Taipei City Council, and was officially established on October 1, 2022.
With the core mission of promoting the development of young people and the promotion of happy families, the center focuses on young people and extends to family education services for all ages. Activity venues and special theme spaces, combined with parenting education, child vocational education, marriage education and gender education, etc., strengthen the parent-child relationship and family's sense of trust and identity, so that parents and teenagers can grow together.
